The third China-EU Mobile CloudComputing Workshop Held in Great Success.
The third China-EU Mobile Cloud Computing(MCC) workshop was held in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications(BUPT) from September 21st to September 22nd, 2015. Thereare many scholars from the famous Chinese and European colleges anduniversities such as University of Gottingen in Germany, University Paris MarieCurie France, Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy, Tsinghua University,Fudan University and Nanjing University and etc were invited to attend thisworkshop. During the workshop, experts and scholars of each party from Chinaand European had the lively discussion on the mobile cloud computing and otherrelative topics, which gained the quite good academic exchange effectaccordingly.
The third China-EU Mobile Cloud Computingworkshop is part of Mobile Cloud project of EU FP7. The Mobile Cloud projectwas organized and involved mutually by total 8 universities from both China andEurope including BUPT. In this workshop, each party did discuss the projectprogress, spread out the series academic presentations and reports related tomobile cloud computing, and visited relative labs in BUPT. The workshop washosted by Prof. Lin Zhang, the dean of School of Information andTelecommunication Engineering. The vice president of BUPT, Prof. Guo Jun madethe keynote speech at the opening ceremony, he affirmed the work achievementsince the project has been launched and expressed the expectation for thisworkshop, and then introduced the latest progress of the campus and disciplinaryconstruction of our university.
During the closed-door conference held inthe morning of September 21st, each party had reported the currentproject progress and spread out the comprehensive exchange accordingly. Prof. LinZhang gave the speech for current work progress and future work plan on behalfof BUPT. The academic symposium held in the afternoon of September 21stand the morning of September 22nd have attracted more than 100professors and students to attend. Prof. Lin Zhang and Associate Prof. ZhanyuMa also gave the talks on “D2D Communications in Mobile Cloud: Cooperative DASHand Vehicular Networks” and “Machine Learning for Non-Gaussian Data Processing:Theory and Applications” respectively. These speeches got the common attention fromthe audience. During the activity of lab visit held in the afternoon ofSeptember 22nd, the delegates have visited the Artificial IntelligenceLab in School of Computer Science and the Advanced Network Technology Lab in Schoolof Information and Telecommunication Engineering respectively. In theArtificial Intelligence Lab, the delegates have experienced the ability of theintelligent robot on natural language processing. In Advanced NetworkTechnology Lab, they’ve experienced the core network technology of the futurevehicular networking. The seminar was closed successfully in the afternoon ofSeptember 22nd.
In the two-day workshop the delegatesdeeply experienced the enthusiasm of BUPT’s professors and students and itsdense academic atmosphere, and felt very satisfied with the quality serviceboth the organizers and student volunteers of the workshop have provided.
